Hi everyone!

I'm a 66 years young Scottish woman who had a heart attack in November 23, treated by medications only..I was lucky. I completed a 12 week rehab programme and carried on exercising . I also used the heart chatroom which was great. However after a long winter I have gained more weight!! Now in Obese section of BMI chart.. I'm suffering the consequences...Sore hip joints, legs and back..Really scunnered with myself..I need to get on a weight loss programme but really don't want to go back to Slimming World etc.... Was told by a dietician not to do any fasting diets..What diet programmes do you follow? I feel I need support..don't want to revisit CCU! I cook but have a sweet tooth and probably eat too much!

Sandra 🙂🐱

Hello and welcome to our friendly and supportive forum. I'm glad you are fully recovered from your heart attack and still able to exercise. Exercise is helpful but what you are eating is more important. There are various plans that members here follow. It is important to find a plan that works for you and is sustainable. If you don't like it you won't stick to it.

Here is a link which will give you all the information you need about the forum and what we offerhealthunlocked.com/weight-l.... Do have a good look around and read all the links. You might like to start by joining the Weigh In and Daily Diary. You can chat to other member and see what plans they follow which will give you some ideas. The FitisFUn club is good for exercise.

SW etc are not for everyone. You will get lots of help and support here and its free. Do join in as much as possible. Keep coming back and chatting and let us know how you are doing. If you have any questions just ask.

It’s much harder to lose weight after 50 yrs old I think but one of my friends told me to look at your usual serving (in your minds eye) on a plate and cut it in half.

It worked for her so I’m giving it a go and if I want something sweet I’m going to have it but just not the whole packet.

it is very hard though but we have to start somewhere and if we put it off then it just gets

worse.

I love a few wines but I’ve given them a miss for two weeks knowing that if something special comes up. I’m not going to deny myself.

Good luck.

I’m going to join, yet again. Believe me when I say, it’s hard being so overweight especially when you’re older. I’m now 75 and 17st 9. It’s hard to keep lugging this weight around. I’m also my husbands only cared, he has mobility problems. I would be happy even to lose 1 stone. So, I will join next week and join the Easter Challenge, if that’s ok. Thank you for your past support everyone.
