Hello! I’ve lost 4 stone through a consistent calorie deficit and majorly increasing my daily steps through brisk walking. I have a stone left to lose but still have a belly. I wondered if anyone has achieved a flatter stomach without incorporating specific exercises? Thanks!

Hey antsmallerpants,
first of all well done for losing the weight, this is how I did it I did a lot of walking and also watched what I had to eat, I cut out as much as I could and made sure I had enough fibre for the day and upped my fruit and veg intake, I found out you can get a thinner belly if you do sit ups I started with 10 a day or aimed for 10 I failed for a week or so and then found it easier if before you get out of bed is to sit up straight in bed and then lie down, using your stomach muscles and I lost my belly, I was 18+ stone I am now down to 14 stone but like you I need to carry on down to 11 stone if I can, this doesn't mean you have to cut out all the unhealthy foods, because you have done so well reward yourself maybe once a week with a nice chocolate éclair or something that you like. hope this helps and good luck
Regards
Mark

I lost my tummy by concentrating on lowering the systemic inflammation caused by my diet. Rather than restrict or even count calories and eat to satiety, I just avoid carbs and seed oils. I'm six feet tall and weigh eleven and a half stones.
