Hi Gintyc Thank you for sending me this message :) I started to walk a little but found it very difficult. I'm sure it should get easier if I keep at it and hopefully lose a bit of weight. I'm hoping weight loss will ease my pain. Good luck with your journey Marie hope to see you here 😀x

Hope very much it eases your pain, different pain but I am also losing weight due to osteo arthritis, so I can definitely sympathise with the walking. Thanks for your good luck :) See you around the forum :)

Hi, I've only been here a few months, but welcome back!

I'm sorry you're dealing with fibromyalgia. Do you mind me asking how you got diagnosed? I've wondered if I have it from time to time, but then think my aches and pains could be anything.

Wishing you well on your weight loss journey!

Hello Eternal_Flame!

I had aches and pain for a few years and just though I was over tired untill my Mother died and that sent me into much worse pain to the point I had a hard time even moving. My doctor sent me to two specialist and thats how I got diagnosed and it's been getting worse so now I have a hard time even walking and gained a ton of weight because of meds they put me on. Sorry you're going through that too.

Oh thank you for sharing, that sounds very rough! I'm going to keep trying to lose weight and hopefully I can cling onto my new habits if anything traumatic occurs. I'll definitely seek medical help if my symptoms get worse though.

Hi and welcome (back). I didn’t know what fibromyalgia was so I’ve looked it up ( google is my friend) and it sounds very debilitating, so no wonder you struggle with exercise and weight gain. I note that it said in the article that exercise can help so hopefully the walking will get easier for you - do you use walking poles ( from a sports shop) -my husband has a chronic leg condition but has found walking with 2 poles rather than a stick is much better , keeps him more upright and even on both sides. Also gives the arms some exercise. Did the doctors or specialist offer you any helpful advice on exercise? Chair exercise seems to be a thing. Anyway, all of that aside, we’re all here to help with losing some weight so what kind of eating plan are you aiming for. Join in with the other topics on here and hope you have a good week.

Hi yes he said that water exercise helps but I'm terrified of the water, but I will try it maybe in the shallow end. and keep trying to walk a few times a week and work my way up to at least every second day. Thank you Frechfields.x
