Hello. Committed but struggling

Hi. I've just joined this group to help stay focused and to hopefully support others. I've been really committed to a healthier lifestyle for a month - I know that's not long but I initially saw some improvement and now I have somehow started gaining weight instead of losing it and I'm back at square one. Feeling a bit deflated now.

I'll join a weekly weigh-in, though probably at the weekend so my regular day is at a time I know I'm not rushing off to work.

Thanks 😊

Hi and welcome, rmros :)

Don't give up hope, weight loss isn't linear and I'm sure if you keep at it the weight will drop again. Have you considered the gain may be due to a medication you may be taking, or water retention due to a salty meal or increased carbs? Have a look at this, it may help healthunlocked.com/weight-l...

All of the information you need about the forum can be found as Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs and looking forward to seeing you on the Weigh-in at the weekend :)

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Hi, it often comes off quicker at the start and if your eating the good stuff thats a good start. I don't know what kind of regime you're following but maybe check portions and make sure you're not eating too much -its normally best to assume that exercise doesn't really contribute much to weightloss. I've been wrestling with the same few pounds off and on since the start of the year but I am also determined to shift it too. Lets hope for a good loss for both of us.

You are in the right place to get support-it can be so frustrating when you put in your best effort and you do not get the result you want...(muscle can weigh heavier-which can throw a bit of a curve ball when you are wanting the scales to show a more encouraging result when you have been exercising-)just keep at it!It is a good sharing space for tips and hacks and sharing experiences-including our frustration too!
