Hi I need help re snacks. I wonder if I am going wrong. Is a small bit of cheese 3 dried apricots and 8 almonds OK plus a capacino?? I'm going cold turkey on the caffeine this week so that'll knock naughty milky drinks on the head.
Or is it better to have a banana...

If you're eating proper meals there should be absolutely no need to snack. Personally, I prefer to just eat my main meal of the day directly after my workout, but YMMV.
If you do feel an occasional need to snack, a piece of cheese, nuts, or a coffee is just fine. An egg is also an excellent option. I'd avoid dried fruit; it's basically just sugar.
Why are milky drinks "naughty"? Apart from a smallish dose of lactose, they're perfectly OK unless you have some intolerance or allergy. Nothing wrong with caffeine either, unless you're drinking five coffees a day.
Thanks for your reply. Yes I need to get better at making sure I eat enough in my meals when working out. I just had mango and Yogurt so when I got home from my class I was super hungry.
Milky drinks are naughty if you always prefer milky coffees ie latte capacino vs water or tea etc.... Obv occasional one fine but I tend to have too many milky drinks
Hi Maria, I posted a question re snacking a couple of weeks ago and got a lot of helpful replies. I also decided to experiment with a week of unsnacking. Huge success. If you’re interested, read all about it here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Oh wow that's a significant difference isn't it. I feel inspired to do the same. Just need to make sure I have proper meals. Let's see how I go this week...
Thanks for taking the time to reply and have a great week x
