I've been referred from C25K and just thought I'd say hello to all and I'm on board with you all.
I spend weeks\months being "good" have a few weeks "off" and hey presto the weight seems to jump back on far quicker than I can lose it - alcohol and carbs leads to weight gain and huge stomach 🙁
Silly liquid diets lead to bottom\digestive problems and are all so unsocial so good health and a bit of weight on may be the better option but hay ho what do I know after a lifetime of a chatterbox of good\bad conversations in my head!
Looking forward to learning from you all!
Kindest regards
Jo

This a lovely grou to join! It is always easier to gain weight than to loose it!
The trouble with liquid diets are anti social as you pointed out! I would only recommend to one’s on a doctor lead diet!
What you need it a life still change!
In these days of high prices for fresh foods! You can use frozen fruit and vegetables! ‘
Fall in love with cooking again! Most cook in sauces that save you time are packed with sugars!
Meat with fat removed! Exercise could be as simple as a brisk walk for 20mins per day to start with!
Changing you lifestyle and eating more healthier foods will help you ! I could recommend several brilliant cook books but I am not sure that would be allowed! Again don’t buy brand new you can get them cheaper on EBay 2nd hand!
Only athletes and others working extremely hard need to eat carbs, the body has a sysyem of making any blood sugar it realy needs, it;s called gluconeogenesis.
Good luck with running . My 2 sons find it addictive and now try and run 25k in under 3.15 which is hard going . Sadly 1 son overdid this and has knee problems. 25k is very hard going and for some can cause injury. I think reflecting he would say that overall 10k is more sensible for long term and what he calls happy sustainable fitness. Running in the UK on pavements is not great for the knees either . Get solid professional advice on running shoes at a place where they measure gait and advice about gear like clothes . I think the biggest problem is that this is sometimes recommended with no thought about the individual. Take care with this and enjoy it . I do admire your get up and go attitude though .
