With not being able to use my prosthetic for nine months, being mainly confined to a wheelchair and with zero physio my weight has shot up to 102.6 kg. One problem is the more I weigh the greater my insulin requirements and the faster the weight gain. I have decided to post to try and increase my motivation as when I get back to using a prosthetic the excess weight will not help!

Here’s the link to the pinned posts,
Here’s the link for the “Tour” of the forum. If you haven’t already taken it.
I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.
You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.
Good luck I hope to "see " you around.
I am overweight but am not diabetic and not confined to a wheel and yet I find it hard to stick to the diet and exercise routine! So, I take my hat off to you for making this resolution to lose weight! I am wondering if you could do some of the seated exercises that are available on line - utube? Doing these will help you lose weight, achieve a better level of fitness and, most importantly, feel good about yourself. Keep posting on here and hopefully we can all share our downs ( weight gains) and ups ( weight loss) and so you can see that it is a struggle for all of us in different ways but the one thing in common we have is that we can always reach out to offer each other support and kind words:). I hope you can lose those pesky lbs!
Thank you for the welcome. I do wheelchair exercises including ones with exercise bands. I am also planning to use weights (dumbells) soon although maybe lower than the 5kg I used pre-amputation. I will post about my weight loss over the past two weeks below.
I had a bit of a problem finding my post. Anyway regular weighing is an issue as bathroom scales are iffy on one leg. Anyway on Wednesday I was 100.25 kg so hopefully I will be below the significant 100 kg soon.
