Amytripaline for fibro?

Hi I was eventually diagnosed with fibro about 5 years ago. Was on pregabalin for about 1 year but then doctor withdrew them . Have been taking over counter pain killers( probably too many ) freeze gel- heat pads for about 12 months now - I spoke with my gp last week who has suggested amitriptyline- is anyone using this and what are the results?

I was using Amytriptaline, it did help with my pain. I have stopped for a while because I am having to sort other medications for other conditions.
