Help finding my mojo
Hey Shellygirl, don't be down. You have lost 2 stone so far. That is incredible. To do that you must have had a lot of determination and drive.. What about changing your tack or trying a new diet? If you have been calorie counting, try low carb or vice versa. There are so many different ways to do this and so much info on here to help. I'm sure one of the administrators will jump in soon to give you pointers. I'm just here to say, go slowly, be kind to yourself and don't lose hope, celebrate your achievements so far and be proud of those. You can stick on a plateau for a while and then find a new way, it's very common. Just don't go back the other way!! You can do it...
I'm 'me too' ! Frustrating isn't it. Haven't really lost anything significant since end of August😣 I'm trying a new approach this week because I know I've been snacking a bit too much - I get really nibbly about 4ish at work and start prowling the school staff room looking for something .... anything! So this wk because I'm not really hungry in the morning I'm having my bfast about 10.30ish, lunch 2ish and dinner when I get in at 6.30ish. So far I've been pretty good, not toooo many dips in the peanut butter jar and no sneaking chunks of cheese😁 Dunno what effect it will have on the scales, will see on Sunday. Good luck!
Oh man, know you aren’t alone! I lose 4 pounds and gain 6, then lose 4 and am still up 2 pounds. Just spoke to my doctor about it. She really suggested a South Beach form of living (healthy carbs (brown rice, quinoa in moderation), healthy fats and lean proteins. My weakness is I don’t love chocolate but truly enjoy 1-2 glasses of red wine at night to relax with my shows. It’s my “treat.”
One thing I did a year ago and it helped me lose 10 pounds, that I’ve kept off for a year now was intermittent fasting between 12 to 16 hours. It wasn’t so much using the IF for weight loss but the rule of not eating between 8-11A kept my mouth shut, no wine, no snacks, etc. My daughter could live off pirate booty and goldfish, which are amazingly good. I went 32 years without them in my life to being obsessed by these little snacks. So now I also buy everything pre packaged. A little more expensive but it has helped tremendously.
Always feel free to reach out. I hate calorie counting but will give it a go since I’m sure I’m underestimating my calories and sugar / carbs.
Hang in there. We’re in lockdown 2.0 too. And it’s rainy and cold... good old PNW. Cheers!
