M.E. And avoiding weight gain

Anyone else has M.E?

I have to be really careful with trying to go beyond an exercise window and do not do aerobic exercise as such. Putting on weight is not good in general so still doing this programme is useful.

Alcohol is a no no as that makes the condition worse and I avoid sweet foods and a lot of carbohydrate. Luckily I don’t have a sweet tooth.

As I can not go shopping much there are no snacks etc. The recipe ideas plus the joined up shopping list is so useful especially when you can not think well.

If I don’t put on weight which is what was happening then that’s good. But would like to lose some if possible.

You may find this interesting, BellisP, especially as testing for thyroid function is not always comprehensive enough meassociation.org.uk/2017/0...

I would advise joining the Thyroid UK forum, for excellent advice and support healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk

Thank you. I am an M. E association member. Although it’s difficult to keep up to date with all the articles so thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I would suggest taking a look at Diet Doctor on YouTube, and subscribing to the channel. There are loads of ideas on healthy eating which are science based. Also search for a 'Functional Medicine' practitioner who will not just look at a treatment for the condition, but look for the cause of the condition. It could be anything, like Lyme disease, mould toxicity, fungal infection, or a host of minor thing which abnormal doctor might have overlooked.
