Just joined the community. Looking for help and support on my journey to a healthier lifestyle. I have recently had gestational diabetes during pregnancy and since had problems with high blood pressure. So if anyone has any advice or tips regarding these issues I would really appreciate it as I feel stuck in a rutt and don't know how to get out.
I am going to start the NHS 12 week calorie counting plan tomorrow (for the 3rd time now) so if anyone has any motivational tips that would help also because I only normally last a week.
Thanks

May I suggest that, as the 12 week plan hasn't got you where you want to be twice before, it may be time to try a different approach. You'll find many members following different plans so take a little time to read and chat and take it from there.
Re your gestational diabetes: diabetes is a disorder of carbohydrate metabolism so that's where you need to make some changes. Here's a simple plan that could work for you phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...
You'll find all our groups and activities in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... , plus a Welcome message. A good place to start is with a weekly weigh-in - why not tomorrow morning? - and the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.

Hi, first things first, congrats on having your little one. That’s a big job in itself. Be gentle with yourself, make small changes to start with. Going all in might be too much to start with. Find what works for you, we are all different here. I’ve only been here a week and the people are super supportive and friendly. Just reach out when you wobble or just need a friendly word or shoulder. 😀
I was going to suggest the same as BridgeGirl. Many of us have been down the calorie counting path and decided that maybe we were flogging a dead horse (poor horse!).
From my own messing about and experience, carbs cause me cravings and good fats sate my appetite (most of the time ).
I was about to suggest understanding why the calorie counting hadn't worked 3 times before trying it again, but I think I've been beaten to that sentiment.
However you choose to proceed, good luck with it. 😄
