I’m hoping to get support with coming to terms with my constant struggle with food. I’m going to be 60 this year and I’m tired of ‘being good or bad’ around food. I just want to be at ease with it, enjoy my food, eat from physical hunger and not emotional hunger and eat food that nurtures and feeds my body in a healthy way. I want to stop obsessing about food and get on with my life. I know I can do it because I want to do it. Good luck to each and every one of you who is facing the same challenge as me. Together we can and will do it! XxxxxxX
Hi everyone I’m new here.: I’m hoping to... - Weight Loss Support
Hi everyone I’m new here.
Great sentiments. Do you have a plan in mind or are you going with the flow? 😄
Hi SofaJockey I'm not sure yet. Some plans say eat good carbohydrates and some say don't eat too many. There is so much conflicting advice it's very confusing. I'm going to look at the NHS 12 week plan and see what that suggests. How are you getting on? What are you doing?
I think you have to do what makes most sense given the foods you like. I would suggest don’t follow a diet that leaves you miserable and hungry or you won’t do it. 🙂
I’m been doing Low Carb because it’s been a fairly painless way to lose the 8 stones I needed to. It’s certainly not the only method.
Well done to you for your achievement. You must be so proud of yourself. I think I'm just going to select recipes from various sources that I like within the calorie guidelines and go from there. We are now shopping once a week (instead of fortnightly) so it will be much easier to plan meals and not pop into the shop for fresh food and be tempted by other unhealthy items. Another issue I have to get over is worrying about what other members of my family eat and trying to 'convert' them to healthy eating which doesn't always work!! Just for once, I'm going to concentrate on me and if they then choose to join in with what I'm eating then that will be great. If not, then that's up to them. Thanks for your support.
