Everyone says to ignore that, and use the number from the BMI calculator, which is typically much higher

Welcome back, Runrabbit50 :)

As Subtle_badger has stated, use the NHS BMI calculator to get an accurate and personalised calorie allowance, alternatively, follow this eating plan that requires no calorie counting healthunlocked.com/api/redi...

As a reminder, all of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Hi moreless I have clicked on the above link to find the eating plan that doesn’t require CC but I get redirected and can only get what appears to be the cover of the booklet (there are only 2 pages). What am I doing wrong? Are we advised to use the Change4life recipes as well? Thanks

That's correct, Read4, just a 2 page leaflet advising you to eat real food, rather than fake food, so no low fat/fat free/diet foods, no highly processed products, like cereals and vegetable/seed oils/spreads and less than 130g carbohydrates.

How many calories we need is so personal - height, weight, exercise, metabolism. I eat about 3000cals a day & you won’t find that recommended on any website... 🤣

Also how much running do you do? Running several times a week doesn’t necessarily translate into the need for more food (or carbs).
