I would suggest diet. My understanding is that weight-loss is 80% diet, 20% exercise. 😄
Hello and welcome to the weight loss forum. Please have a good read of the Pinned Post “Welcome Newbies”. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
This is a very large community with lots going on. May I suggest you use the webpage as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around. Take your time and follow every thread so that you know exactly what’s going on.
Here’s the link for a “Tour” of the forum ,if you haven’t already taken it.
If you are following the NHS plan please check your BMI on the NHS site and obtain the correct amount of calories for you.

The Daily Diary and the Weekly Weigh ins are very good places to begin. You will find the DD and WI in the Pinned Posts under “Events”
I find the Daily Diary a very good place to share my plans and get inspiration from other members, too. Once the day’s food is written down I’m far more likely to stay on track.
The key to success is participation, we are all on the same journey.
If you can’t find something just shout, there’s usually someone around.
I hope to “see” you around, Good Luck.🍀😉
Let me add a more developed answer that perhaps doesn't come across as sounding as 'smart'.
Losing 10kg in 12 weeks is not nothing. It's certainly reasonable because a good sustainable target is said to be 1kg/2 pounds per week, but as you only have 2 weeks in addition, there's not much room for error within that timescale.
Exercise will certainly help, and frankly the best exercise is the one you most enjoy that you will do to a level of exertion where you are sweating a little for 30 minutes each day. If you don't like the exercise it'll be miserable. I don't think it particularly matters which one for this purpose. Brisk walking, jogging, cycling, aerobics, weights, whatever you'll do enthusiastically.
But if you want to lose 10kg in 12 weeks, I think you'll struggle without also addressing your diet. If it were me I'd follow a Low Carb plan that reduced sugar, carbs and added some portion controlled healthy fats to address hunger, plus drink water.
Welcome, would you like to join our weigh in today? Here's the link, I hope to see you there x
If you want to lose weight for an event, there is a risk after that you just return to your previous habits. If you do that, the weight will return, and you will have begun a lifetime yoyo dieting.
So you need to plan what you will change after you lose the weight to not put it back on.
That being said, I lost that sort of amount in that sort of time with a month of very low calorie eating, followed by a more sustainable food plan, that I am still following.

For me, exercise was not a factor. That photo on the left, of my obese belly? I had cycle London to Oxford (100km) the day before. It's possible to be very active and stay fat.
If you don't exercise at all, some exercise may help. If you already exercise, HIIT might do something for you, or maybe adding weight work.
Ps if that is your real name, you might consider changing it. A lot of us find anonymity gives us a lot of freedom to be honest with each other.
10 kg in 12 weeks seems doable to me, but that’s only because my starting weight was so high, that 10 kg wasn’t that much in terms of percentage of my body weight at the time. So I’d say it does depend on your current weight. From my experience though losing weight for a specific event (I’m guessing that there might be something happening in 12 weeks...) doesn’t work and even if it does, it doesn’t hold. Hopefully it would be different for you 😊 good luck!
Losing that much in so short a time is not going to be good for you. It could be actively dangerous.
The recommended rate is 2/3 pounds maximum a week, although you will probably find you lose most in the first week.
Also, if you lose weight fast, your body does not get used to your new way of eating and you will pile it back on, whereas with a slower loss it does get used to it and it stays off longer, as long as you don't go back to your old ways.
