Fast800 worked for me to kick off my weight loss. I didn't follow it strictly and only for a month.

As a reminder, all of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

I word of caution (from someone who has recently shifted 7 stone). It's more sustainable to aim for a loss of around 2 pounds / 1 kilo per week, than going for a faster crash diet, in my view. I think strictly limiting the time of the hard diet is good advice. Even if you lose half a stone in the first month, that's going to help your back and knees.

Steady progress wins the race. I'd also suggest having a good look at the Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) model for sustainable long-term weight-loss (though of course there are other methods).

For me - I was 80kg - now around 63kg I knew I couldn't starve myself . This is a healthy eating plan to maintain for life . My knees ached and my back groaned but this was 100% due to the amount of weight they carried . You can only eat what you buy so menu plan and buy for those meals then you don't have anything else . This saved me money too . I used Myfitnesspal free app to guide me around balancing nutrients as so much hidden sugar is in products as well as transfats . I eat porridge for breakfast as it fills me up and stops me snacking . Salad with fish , cottage cheese or a 2 egg omelette then a 5- 600 cal evening meal with loads of veg and maybe yogurt , fruit , low cal jelly . Sip an options hot choc drink if you crave sugar . The odd handful of unsalted nuts bought in the baking aisle can be a decent treat . Exercise - start with walking . Swimming is good but obviuosly not now . I started Zumba . Start with just 1 song on You Tube and progress to a class. You seem almost identical to me . I took me over a year to shed the weight but after 3 months I could notice a real difference . Clothes are a joy to buy . I have confidence to change jobs and my mental health is on a new par .

thank you, I will try that. I do have 2 dogs and a horse and 6 grandchildren. but with the situation at the moment only just started seeing the grandchildren so exercise was a bit slow. Its my snacking at work which is the worse time :( but do now bring a packed lunch in.
