I chose it because I wanted to point out you can still treat yourself and indulge a little without having to feel guilty, and still lose weight in the process.
I reached a 50lb loss today, and it's 9 months since I started really trying to get healthy.
It's easy to feel bad about a little indulgement. But if you're consistently trying and doing well in general, don't forget to recognise your achievements too!!
Eating should never be something that causes shame. Just gotta find that balance <3

Couldn't agree more. I thoroughly dislike those diet plans that refer to food as "syns" and similar, and make people feel guilty for eating. What makes it worse is that their definition of "bad" foods is based on some made-up superstition, not actual science - thus people end up feeling guilty for absolutely no good reason.
Sure, there are certain foods that, if you eat them consistently, in large amounts, for a long period of time, will make you fat. If you're already fat they'll prevent you losing weight. Baps, for example But as long as the majority of your meals are nutritious and adequate, and you're keeping active, the occasional indulgence is neither here nor there.
That is true, though to make it phonetically equivalent to 'sins' probably isn't unintentional.
I think the point is that no food should be considered bad just as no food should be considered 'free' either. Another term I believe used in Slimming World.
All food has a calorie and nutritional value - and that should be considered in a balanced diet.
But the main thing is whatever works for the individual, as long as they are getting the nutrition and energy they need!
Slimming world works for me and the free and speed foods are things that are unlimited, but, you have to have at least a 3rd of your plate is vegetables/fruit. I love veg and fruit and these are things that are promoted, it is a nutritionally balanced approach and it has developed over time. Eating more fresh veg and fruit, eating less processed foods and sugar, more fibre, more soya milk and yogurt has helped me loose weight.
I have been interested in nutrition for years as a vegetarian I believe I need to make sure my diet has the vitamins and minerals to keep me well.
