Positive Story

Hi,

I have been using this time to push myself to run further. I struggled with a mile before but made it my goal to reach 5km. My health is good and I do other sports so I am not completely new to exercise, just running is very hard work. So I attempted my first 5k the other day but only managed 4km - I know how important it is to listen to my body. The next morning I felt super refreshed so tried again and managed my first 5k! Three days later I did another! They were both over 40 minutes but I don't care about the time yet because it's something I never believed I could achieve. This morning I was a bit tired, even after my rest day yesterday so I ran a mile just to keep active and it felt easy and I still had energy after.

I read a lot of positive stories from people and it motivates me a lot, hence why I thought I would share my little success. Now I'm just excited for the 5k to become easier because at the moment it's a huge challenge for me!

Next challenge: Park Run!

Thank you for sharing! Good work.

I finally turned off the alarm on my phone that reminds me each Saturday to go to Parkrun :( But it will soon be back. 🤞

Do you use an app to track your progress?

Well done on the 5k. As all Parkruns are now closed, do you want to enter a virtual race? There’s one of 5k on 26/04, check out the website of run nation.

Are you a member in the Bridge to 10k forum here?
