Day 98: Helpful Research.

Today I decided to do some research on some of the things I could do to help me on my journey. Some of the things I probably won't do, but you never know, like cold water swimming. Other things were more easily done to help. The things I found are probably obvious or things you already know, but if you want to have a look you can.

I hope you're all doing well and staying safe.

cold water swimming, definitely not for me! :) makes me shudder just to think of it :)

the gratitude thing is quite interesting though, I have been working on this (having been given a book on the subject for Christmas) One suggestion was, each night when you go to bed, to think about all the good things that happened during the day that you are grateful for, then decide the best thing that happened and say thank you for it. Every night.

Surprisingly I found this takes a bit of practice, so many days are a round of work and routine and chores and complaining that actually appreciating all the good things in a day, every day, took a conscious effort and was a habit I needed to cultivate :)

Hi Sunny369, one thing I have found in my research is that having a gratitude journal can stave off depression and make you feel more positive about your life and generally make you feel happier. It's one of the reasons I've started doing it. It does take practice and it does need discipline, but it'll be worth it in the end. Keep at it though and I, for one, am very grateful that you read my posts and for your support. Keep going!

I don't get on here until late, so no, I haven't. Sorry. If you could point me in the right direction?

You'll find it in Pinned Posts, with the other forum activities, and there's always one open: as a new one is posted, the old one is closed.
