Day 268: Forgetting.

Everything I was going to do today I forgot to do because I was busy. It's probably just another excuse, but I literally didn't even think about my journey until a few minutes ago. Hey ho. Stay strong.

PedallingMinstrelRestart April 2024

Great news on the pound Sean . The scales showed two pounds on for me after a boozy night but they’re back to where I was now.

My skinny cycling mate is coming to cycle the 80 mile Morecambe Bay Cycle way with me on Tuesday so I need to be good and try and get another pound off before he comes he’s half a stone lighter than me.

Your diet will have a bigger impact on reducing your weight Sean. If you eat loads of calories it’s harder to shift it unless you’re putting hours in of hard cardio and muscle work. It’s just easier to eat sensibly and avoid refined carbs. Exercise will help but that’s more with raising your metabolism and your general health and well-being. The cycling is definitely helping me shift it but if I was eating too much it wouldn’t have such a big impact and I’m putting a lot of time in on it while the weather is dry.

Keep focussed For me it helps if I plan meals ahead so I then I am in control of what I eat.

Good luck

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

Glad to hear you're back to where you were ans that you are going for a very long bike ride. 80 miles is a lot of ground to cover in one day, don't think I'd be able to manage it myself.

I agree that eating right is much better for me and I am trying to get back to eating the way I was 6 months ago, but I am so exhausted that my willpower is not as strong as it was. However, today was relatively good so hopefully it's the start of something good in terms of eating healthily.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Sean.

It’s small steps Sean when you can it make them . My diet has been blown out the water over the the last two days . We stayed over night last night about forty miles a day. Today was a lot more challenging. My diet went out the window beers fish and chips sausage butties you name it, Ill get back on it though. Like you I’m in it for the long haul.

Best wishes

Jeff

That sounds awesome. And with the number of calories you must be burning through the biking, I feel that the beers and fish and chips etc will be being used during the days. It also sounds like something I may have to suggest to my other half once I retire...in 23 years time. Lol.

Good riding tomorrow.

Sean

Don’t wait 23 years ! It was really good fantastic scenery all the way round and lots of pretty villages country lanes and cycle path ways. I am going to do Sober October for Macmillan cancer. I have also signed up for the lose seven pound Autumn Challenge as a couple of goals I have set myself to keep me on track.

Weather has turned heat now so no biking today I need to rest up though.

Well done on the loss 👏 I agree that food really does contribute to around 90% of the weight loss and having a good rethink about your triggers for over-eating or rather, eating the things you planned to give up, will help much more than extending your running distance for example. Have a good rest/relaxation this weekend 😊

Hey Sheperdess,

How are you going with your journey? Hope you're having more success than I am at the moment. I am definitely looking at cutting down on carbs and eating more healthily. Hopefully back to full 'on-it' soon!

Yes doing well thanks 😊 I reached the 50lbs loss mark (yay 👍) and am now trying to build in more core strength to my workout. Best of luck with the restart 🍀
