So I’m two weeks in and doing ok - actually more than ok. (94 - 91.8kg). But it seems such a long way off given that even a year or so ago I was 87 (and I thought that was too much). Any tips on how to keep going?

It really does make sense to focus on one week at a time. I couldn't think about 35 kg loss at the start, but that's where I've got to after 8 months. One meal after another. At the start I'd put weights equivalent to the loss in a basket and invite people to lift it (until that became unsafe).
I would advise trying something like Fast800 for a month. Without following it strictly and including a complete blowout on Christmas day, I made such good progress in the first month that I was set on the road and I haven't looked back. Even a 6 week stall a starting mid January could not break my spirit.
I would break your planned weight loss into small portions and goals. So don't think you want to loose whatever you want to loose in total. Just think about loosing maybe 5 kg by beginning of June. And then have a non food reward once you achieve that goal then set yourself another weight loss goal in another 2 months and keep repeating until you reach your target weight
