Can you give a bit more information?

Are you wanting to lose weight faster. I think it's a bit more complicated than that.

Hello and welcome, Hkhan78 :)

Generally, metabolism slows when we eat less than the body needs, which is usually with restrictive diets: the situation is worse the more often we diet. I suggest you eat well, whole foods, home cooked, avoid processed foods, especially anything labelled low fat or light or diet.

Here some useful reading

There is plenty of information and support here and you'll find everything you need in our Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... I recommend joining a weekly weigh-in and using the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.

I hope you'll become and active member

As swenknit has mentioned, if you're looking for weight loss then it's more complicated.

If you want to increase the ratio of how much your body burns against how much you consume then you could reduce how much you eat.

Increasing exercise could work but then we've committed ourselves to that level of exercise and can't stop without at some point, having to reduce what we consume, which sounds like something that could have been done in the first place.

If you can, take the time to read through everything that BridgeGirl has linked for you.

Good luck!

Hi, Hkhan78 , welcome.

Calorific restriction suppresses the metabolism, and (Intermittent) Fasting stimulates it.

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
