Hello all. I used to be a member a few years back but gave up. Now I think this is my best option. I have 6 stone to lose and it seems mammoth. My husband is also a member and we don’t really know how to keep our accounts separate. Any advice welcome please

Welcome back, Susie71 :)

You must have been doing something right since we last 'saw' you, as you had 9 stone to lose then, so you've obviously lost 3 stone :)

Keeping your account separate from your husband's shouldn't be a problem. If you're sharing a devise, then you'll have to take turns each and will need to log off each time you visit the forum, but if you have more than one device, then you can both log on at the same time, as long as you've set up separate accounts, with separate email addresses.

As both of you need to lose weight, it means you can both eat the same meals and don't need to keep unhealthy food/drink in the house.

Have a look at these to get you started:

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

healthunlocked.com/api/redi...

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Welcome back Susie :)

As moreless has already pointed out how you can both use your logons. In case you're not aware, you log off by clicking on your profile pic (top right) and choosing the 'logoff' option,

Some people come here and think that they failed previously because they didn't have enough willpower and somehow have more this time. This is rarely, if ever the case :(

Taking part in the events and challenges will help you both with maintaining focus, as will reading and replying to people's posts... even if only to say 'welcome' :)

For now I'd recommend joining in one of the Weekly Weigh-ins and joining in with the Daily Diarys.

Best of luck!

Thank you. My next question was going to be how do I log on and off. Your post very helpful. Thank you xx

Hi Susie71 this is our new site guide,

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

If you read it carefully as part of the info there are links (info typed in blue)which take you to further guidance and one of those gives picture guidance to getting about the site too. Give it a try and come back if you are still stuck

Sorry theres no calorie counter on the HU site

Hi, Susie71 , welcome back.

I am 70 (nearly as old as you) and I have lost 5 stone.

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
