Hi, Bailey43 , welcome.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
Hi Bailey43, welcome to this amazing forum. I'm still new here,I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way round. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads.
Have a good read of the newbie pack and follow every thread.
I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a weekly weigh in.
You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you, it can help other members too.
Good luck I hope to "see " you around.🍀 xx
Welcome, Bailey43 !
I lost my weight through calorie-counting and meal-planning, it took me about 6 months to lose the 2 stone. (I had always been a little bit overweight for most of my adult life, but I hit the menopause hard and my weight started going up and up and up. I had to reverse it.)
I have stayed active on the forum as I have realised I will probably need to keep an eye on my weight for the rest of my life.
Most of all, I took part on the Daily Diary and a weekly weigh-in, and dipped in and out of other threads as I had time and inclination.
Others have lost a lot more weight than I have, and I find them very inspiring. But we all help each other along.
For me, the trick has been to pay attention to what makes me tick psychologically around food, and work with that.
Cheering you on!
Not really helping here, but I too am starting tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
