I'm new to this forum! For the last 18 months I've been eating healthly and working at gym almost daily until I'd over worked my knees from cycling 30 kilometers daily and lifting weights!-
On the 27th of December I'm aiming to get back on track with my healthy regime to loose drop the unwanted 12lbs in weight!-
I'm currently on holiday heading towards Bruges to celebrate my hubby's 70th birthday, hence my delay in getting back on track! However yesterday I did eat a nice chicken salad and not pizza which hubby had on route!
PS On the 7th of March shall be my third attempt to sky dive from 15.000 feet to raise funds for the British Liver Trust and QE Hospital to which I've so far raised 2.24k
Well May I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a sucessful healthy 2020

Well someone I know from another Community joined so I came to se what’s happening here if that makes sense. I am lucky that I have got myself to a reasonable weight - driven my Diabetes needs. So support? - I’ll try if I can!
I've been a member of BLT Health Unlocked for just over 12months due to on going non alcoholic liver issues. I'm currently having monthly blood tests and numerous scans ! On the 7th Jan I get to hear recent CT scan results.
I'm 67 and starting to re introduce my healthy eating plan 18 months ago! My start weight was 13stone 12lbs! I'm now 10.10lbs but want to be about 9.7lbs for my height of 5 foot 4 inches and age! I'm actually small boned with a size 4 shoe. My weight at the age of 40 varied between 7.12lbs to 8.7lbs back then and was Supa Supa fit which I'd like to achieve again within the first quarter of 2020😁
Good question! My last BMI was 25.5 so I'm classed as still being overweight which I do agree on! I'm a size 12 which is fine but would like to be a very loose size 12 without getting that haggard ageing look for being to thin! Hopefully you'll understand what I'm saying ?
Just responding to the shoe size/clothes size point. Research suggests that in women wrist circumference may be a better marker for frame size (and therefore ideal clothes size when lean). This is because of the way pregnancy affects shoe size.
The combination of carrying extra pregnancy weight whilst having additional relaxin produced which loosens joints and ligaments, often results in a higher shoe size.
I have been pregnant 6 times, am back to pre-pregnancy weight, but a full shoe size bigger
About 5 years ago, or so, they were going to scrap the BMI system because it didn’t account for those who are very athletic and/or big boned.
I have 5 grandchildren who are all exceptionally into sports and spend a lot of time participating and NO time on computer games etc. One of them got told by the school nurse that she was Obese as per her BMI! My daughter was not chuffed - to put it mildly. Time BMI was replaced imho. I expect to be challenged but it won’t me think any differently 😑.
I'm totally shocked Miles that your GD (hopefully correct) was called obese , especially considering at the high the level of sport she performs at! I think the nurse needs a visit to Specsavers !
However I do wonder about the BMI chart!
Stoozle, is there a weight chart based on your wrist or waist size?
I've just been on the freedieting.com/true frame web site.......
Based on my height of 5.4" with a wrist size of less than 6"! I've worked out my calculations which highlight my ideal weight should be around 108 lbs!
If I was a person obsessed by healthy chart guidelines , this would mean that I still have to loose a further 42lbs (3 stone) which would bring me down to the weight I was in my early 20's and I'm not sure I would suit being that thin again at my age!
I think I could quiet easily get away with dropping at least another stone or even a stone and half but definately not 3 stone! My target starting the 27th is a stone by March then possibly 7 more pounds for my hols in May !,
Have alook at our Welcome Newbies post healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... which explains how the forum works and how to find your way around.

Thank you Hippa! To be perfectly honest being in Bruges is wonderful but not great with all of the lovely temptations of the Christmas foods and of course then theres the Belgium chocolates which is a little weakness of mine whilst here ! Hubby keeps telling me not to get concerned about gaining a few pounds as you'll loose it again! I know he's right but I'm already feeling bad about myself for craving such delights ...
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a sucessful healthly and happy 2020!,
Unfortunately I had almost 6 weeks rest including X- Ray's which confirmed arthritis in both knees! I'm still allowed to cycle but at a lower pace!
Thank you for your message and a Merry Christmas
Shropshire Lass!

Hi Still
Sorry could you explain premature aging in more detail please.
I'm 67 and fairly fit! I have good skin so I'm told by numerous! Dont smoke and only have maybe one weak alcoholic drink about once a month if that! I'm not diabetic and have great blood pressure normally at around 112/62 .
I'm small boned with a wrist measurement of less than 6 inches
My GP said my arthritis was down to wear and tear!
I look forward to hearing more on reducing carbohydrates
