So it’s the week before my period and since Sunday I’ve felt low, demotivated and been eating junk 😭 I’m only on my second week of my journey to loose 3st and started so well and was feeling great but this week I’ve ruined it and everything has gone out the window, healthy eating, exercise and positive attitude.
How do I get back on it without that dangerous cycle of thinking what’s the point, I want that chocolate bar etc anyone else struggle around their period? Thanks

In a lifetime, srwatson, that 30 seconds it took to eat the cake/chocolate bar isn't even going to register, so stop thinking you've ruined everything.
As long as you're not on a diet and have every intention of following a healthier lifestyle, then blips will happen. There will always be high days and holidays, good days and not-so-good days, so just ride the wave and aim for the calm at the end of the storm. Once your hormones level off, you'll get back on track and all will be hunky dory again
Hi. I too struggle loads at this time of the month. My mood swings are crazy starting a week before then while I have my period.. and to top it all off I lose zero weight but put it on! And thats without sugar cravings (low carb high fat diet helps with this).
Its pretty demotivating huh?!
I think that the first step is to accept that maybe for us this time is hard! Then to give extra allowance and to concentrate on getting back on track again. My weigh day is Tuesday and it helps alot to have this.
Thanks guys. Maybe I just need to accept that for me the week before I’m due my period is a difficult time with low mood, no energy and food cravings. Funny when I have my period I’m actually fine but it’s the week before that plays havoc with my body and mind. You are right I just need to accept it for what it is and once my mood improves I can get back on it instead of going back into that vicious cycle. Thanks
Though my problems in this regard are now ancient history, I well remember feeling very similar at that time. I would have murderous mood swings and cravings.
You seem to be aware now and ready to adjust. Make a plan for things to eat when the cravings start.
I looked back in my old Slimming World log book the other day and saw the regular stars for my period next to the weight. It slowed or bounced the, but the overall trend continued and I lost 7 stones.
Look at the long term goal and don't beat yourself up.
Thank you. I guess I just need to be more prepared for a week every month to feel a bit off track. I am just following healthy eating and walking as much as I can to start off with. Not good at counting calories or restricting myself so just making a conscious effort to make better food choices and more exercise.
