Hello, notsoslimnow, and welcome to the forum 😊

Everything you need to find your way around is in the Welcome Newbies post: I’ve tagged you there so pop over and take your time reading it. I recommend joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice, and using the Daily Diary to share your meal plans.

To get the most out of the forum, join in conversations, ask questions and support others - it will all pay off for you 😊

Hi, notsoslimnow , welcome back.

Weight loss is not all about motivation and masochism - if you "slim smart" it is not so hard!

Many of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:

Hi notso! My advice would be to focus on celebrating healthy new habits and positive changes in how you feel. The scales will not always be the best indicator of progress. I’ve got 3st to lose too and the progress has been v slow but we are in this for the long haul. Very very best of luck.

Hi soonalotslimmer 😊 and welcome. I found the 12 week plan very educational, I hope it works for you.

My best advice would be very similar to that of Fit2Climb : make gradual, small, sustainable habit changes. Don’t try to change everything at once. It doesn’t matter if the journey takes a year or more. You are going to be living according to your new lifestyle forever anyway. Good luck.

Hello notsoslimnow , I agree with Bridgegirl, the Daily Diary has made a huge difference to me planning meals and exercise. It is possible to see what others eat, members are so supportive and if you make a plan it is harder to break it. I wish you all the best :)

Hi and welcome to this forum where you will get lots of support and encouragement from the members.

A suggestion would be to look at this as a new lifestyle it is not a quick fix but a healthier way of living which is really for life. Work on small chunks of say half a stone at any one time not thinking about the goal of 3 stone you say you want to lose.

Measure yourself now and make a note somewhere of those measurements, no one else needs to see them.

Get rid of all those high calorie items in your cupboards, give them away or put them in the collection of food items at your local supermarket to get them out of sight so you won’t be tempted.

Have you joined one of our weekly weigh in groups where you will get to know a group of people and can also support them on their journey. I started on my journey Nov 2017 though I didn’t join here till a good 6 months later. There are lots of people on here who will become friends who are on the same journey as you and who understand what you are going through.

Hope you have a lovely week Sue 🌺🌺🌺
