Yes, you could leave the chili jam out or some of the fresh chilli out and then add at the end. I wouldn't add any more powder at the end as i think it would need cooking out a bit.
Thanks - just found this one hairybikers.com/recipes/vie... - looks really fattening but might give it a go with salmon instead, at some point. It looks delicious
I'm with you IndigoBlue61 - as much as anything looks good such as leeks / aubergine used in lasagne as a replacement for the pasta sheets ... you'll never convert me to making a lasagne without pasta in it!!
I was the same with pasta, potato and rice, but I never eat any of them now and never miss them. I much prefer to have a variety of different veg, which are tastier and lighter
I'm with moreless. I could never have imagined living without bread and potatoes after 60+ years of meals built around these staples but I can't remember now when I last bought them. Not quite true as I had visitors recently and bought some potatoes for them and bread for toast at breakfast - ended up throwing most of it away, which is dreadful.
I guess it's each to their own. It's amazing how much of a difference you've made to your diet.
I've made the mistake of completely cutting sugar out of my diet before and it's difficult to keep it to a minimum when it's so addictive, but personally I'd never cut carbs or sugar completely out. I'd aim for them to be as low and balanced as possible, but I know that's not for everyone
Me too. I've not cut carbs out completely (not sure you can) I just get them from veg and fruit now.
That doesn't mean I don't ever have something sweet: I had a gorgeous slice of cake this afternoon with friends at a cafe. I just don't have any of that stuff in the house so it truly is an exception. I think, for me, it was addictive when I fed the addiction, and I've no doubt it could become so again, if I allowed it to
I’d recommend absolutely anything from Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s ‘Much More Veg’, all recipes vegan, and all the veggie recipes in Yotam Ottolenghi’s ‘Ottolenghi Simple’. I’m currently having a happy Sunday morning planning my week with them!
That first one is definitely Hugh F-W and might have some stuff from the most recent book. Ditto Ottolenghi but it’s definitely worth checking out the ‘Simple’ book for recipes that don’t involve a day’s shopping before you make them!
Please look at some of my recipes in the Vegetarian menu tab - I am not vegetarian, but enjoy and try to eat meat free as much as we can! I also try to eat reduced processed carbs.
Thank you everyone for all the replies. I'm hoping to print all the recipes out and laminate them to compile together and have a go to, recommended recipe book
That was one of my "I don't likes" but buried in here I don't think you'd notice it. However, when I was still convinced I didn't like it, I substituted a leek
I actually want to eat it funnily enough. My son loves it raw with hummus but I never buy it. I remember watching a program years ago saying if you try foods you don't like enough times you eventually like them, so I always make it a habit to try anything healthy.
