Newbie on a long journey

Hi all

I'm a newbie and I'm starting a very long journey. I've done WW slimming world 5:2 diets and all sorts and it works for a bit and as soon as something happens in my life I'm back to the beginning again. The reason now to start is due to me having my 13th bout of pneumonia and feeling rough.. I just wanna be healthy and happy. Also need a little bit of support.

Good morning, Marcyd, and welcome to the forum :)

Given your history of dieting, I'll give you this to read which should shed light on what's happened to your metabolism healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and this offers a way forward phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

There is a lot going on here so we've put all the information you need in this Welcome Newbies post healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... I recommend joining a weekly weigh in and using the Daily Diary for meal planning.

We've found that active participation gives a big boost to commitment and motivation so I hope we'll see you around :)

Hello and welcome Marcyd, you are in good company, many of us have tried every diet going, yo-yoing from one to the other. All it has proved to most of us is that dieting doesn't work long term. It's all about finding a healthy way of eating that is sustainable for us.

I hope the you will find time to read the links that BridgeGirl has given you and that you will find them useful :)

Why not take yourself to today's weigh in and get to know a group of supportive people there. You will find it in Event's. If you are struggling, the information is in the Newbie Pack, there is even a visual aid to help you :)

Wishing you good luck :)
