Hello all, I’m new on the block! Been a yo yo dieter for years - just can’t seem to shake the boom and bust, it’s my mind as well as my mouth that consumes the calories!. Would like to loose 10kgs gradually and keep it shifted! Giving the nhs 12 week approach ago.

Hi Jaq, welcome! The links moreless has given you will be really helpful. I also really recommend the Daily Diary for planning what you're going to eat and sticking to it. Tomorrow's will be posted this evening (Weds) so you can tell us what you're going to eat and get tips from others. I'll tag you in to today's so you can see what it's all about (you can also post today's plans if you've planned them, not too late!)

I was in a similar position to you and came in here when I was on the way up - got the weight back down again and maintained it for over 6 months, my best ever since I first put on weight when I went back to studying in my 30s - I'm 54 so sadly that was 20 years yo-yo dieting! The summer took me a bit over my maintenance range - longer and more exotic holiday than usual plus some working away with lots of eating out - but I'm back here now and the peer support you get is great, I reckon I'll soon be back with a Maintener badge (the badges here are fun and motivating - I thought this aspect was a bit daft at first but I can see the value of it now!).

Good luck!!

It was shocking. Had 1:1 lunch, then completely unnecessary two glasses of wine after work - turned into more wine at home, cheese sandwich and chocolate. I’m not going to use the products anymore. So...just pulled up at supermarket to purchase good food, it will help if my fridge reflects my intentions.

It’s not a mistake if we learn from it 😊 Alcohol has that effect on me so I rarely drink these days.

Here’s a helping hand onto the wagon, you can do this 👍👏😊

Had a great food shop, full of the good stuff! Ate wonderfully today. I got the myfitnesspal app just to help track. I’ve decided not to count veg/fruit for now as when i do i just save calories for the bad stuff and don’t have the veg/fruit. Also need to find time to work out this site and all of its wonderful features! Got a holiday to Florida mid October so want my new life of good eating habits in place for then. X
