I’ve been struggling with my weight for all my life. Yo-yo-ing back and forth between two extremes. Having body dysmorphia at 130 lbs and thinking I was obese, to now struggling to stay motivated and disciplined at 190 pounds and needing to lose weight.

If anyone knows a great way to get started on their weight loss journey, and how they stayed motivated. I would really love to hear it. I don’t have access to a gym at the moment but when I do feel motivated I do exercise and run on the elliptical I have for 20 mins.

If anyone could give any tips, I would greatly appreciate it :)

Good morning, ACV72, and welcome to the forum :)

Your ups and downs will have taken their toll on your metabolism and you may have lost a real sense of appetite, which is what should guide us to eat, and to stop eating when we're full. If you still have body dysmorphism, Beat may be able to help google.com/search?q=beat+ea...

You will have been given the key links to finding your way around the forum in your welcome message: if you're struggling, just shout out. I recommend joining a weekly weigh-in on the day of your choice. It's a great way of getting to know people and be part of a team throughout your time on the forum.

Wishing you every success in turning things round and finding a comfortable relationship with your body and with food :)

Acv72 it’s very difficult. They do have lots of info on here and a food diary is a good idea . I can’t do without mine now . If I slip up one day it gives me the insentive to do better the next day . All the best .

Good point and good thinking. Many people's first reaction to slipping up is to give up or 'hope' to do better next time. Using a diary helps us analyse what went wrong and why, then work towards a solution for the next time.
