Sugar limit diet

I’m wanting to try out eating no sugar/less sugar for a while and seeing if this limits my energy levels at all. But just was wondering what foods have no sugar as even things like milk have sugar in them so how is the no sugar diet possible??

No added sugar. No maple syrup. No honey, no white, Brown, unrefined sugar. I just did 7 days no sugar and I feel more energy. Sugar makes me tired. Eat protein. Green veg. A bit of fresh fruit ( Natural sugar). A few carbs.

Refined carbohydrates are much the same as sugar... and you get a lot of sugar in almost all processed foods - and, if you read the ingredients, there are about 61 different forms of sugar.

The Low-Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet is, I think what you are looking for (Keto is even lower carbohydrates). See the Low-Carb, High-Fat (LCHF) forum here on Health Unlocked.

There is also a Healthy Eating Forum.

I consider myself to be sugar free, as in I do not add sugar to anything and I cook all meals from fresh. I do not lack energy or have any ill effects.. I used to eat a lot of sour sweets and chocolate!!You might find this link of interest...

A start would be to reduce anything that has added sugar, processed foods and confectionary. But as you say lots of things contain sugar, even leafy greens! One of our members refers to a “low crap high food diet” which I think is a good philosophy 😊

If you wish to go further, there is a Low Carbohydrate forum here healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet (all carbohydrates are sugar)
