Dancing round the kitchen

Morning All,

I am very early days in my weight loss and increased activity journey but already feel much better less bloated, more energetic so much so that I was dancing round the kitchen this morning to the radio much to the amusement of my three teenage sons (not!).

An amazing thing occurred to me whilst bopping around and it was that it’s not necessarily about goal weights or inch loss goals but about just feeling a bit better about yourself, a bit more comfortable in your own skin! So whether you have 7lbs to lose or 7 stones as soon as you feel just a bit more comfortable then progress is really happening right?

I still have 25lbs or so to lose but, with the help of this forum, have made a good start over the past ten days, and have been exercising every day since I started and have seriously reduced my tendency to snack in the evenings - yay! I have been given some great tips here to have a piece of cheese and fruit instead of crisps and peanuts! And this has worked a dream for me so far.

The trick is perhaps to remember how much better I am feeling today and stick with the diet and exercise plan until I get to a weight I feel happy with. It may take 6 months but I shall try and keep positive throughout if I can.

So thank you so far forum members for the lovely messages of support so far and I hope I will be dancing round the kitchen for several weeks to come!

Love to all x

What a lovely positive post. It feels so good to know your hard work is paying off, be sure to capture that feeling. 💃 Maybe start each day henceforth with a dance?!

Good luck with the rest of your journey.

Yes the changes are much deeper than just the cosmetic ones that are usually the initial motivation. Since losing weight and exercising every day I am much more bouncy! A few months ago I literally couldn't jump on the spot!

If your enjoying your journey you will get there in no time! But remember... It doesn't really end. Even at your goal weight keep up the activity! It's this that gives you those good feeling endorphins as well as keeps everything in better shape as we get older!

Hi Edge1234,

So true if you feel better first then you are better able to deal with everything else .

Have a great week.

Thank you - you too xx

I completely agree...its so much more about how you feel about yourself than what the scales say! If you could bottle and sell that positivity you would be worth a fortune 😊

Have a great week ahead x

Hi Edge - I really like this post! Such a good point that actually making the right choices makes us feel good in ourselves. Great that the weight is coming off - but actually I agree: I just feel proud that I am doing it and already have more energy. I’ve got LOADS to lose, and it would be easy to get daunted by the scale of it, but this is a lovely positive way of thinking about it. This forum is definitely keeping me in the ZONE! 😊

Hi Edge1234

I so agree with you. Your positive post has really given me a lift and made me realise, yes, it's not just the numbers on the scales, though every pound off is of course very welcome.

My big achievement since starting here is walking home from work. I've managed it four times in the past fortnight, and each time, despite a little soreness in my leg (I'm an amputee) it's been such a positive end to the working day.

Keep it up, Edge1234!

I know exactly how you feel, eating better made me feel so much more optimistic and energised, quite aside from the the weight loss 😊👏✅
