I thought sweet potatoes were not a carb. . As I remember at slimming world they said you could have more than a third on your plate .. now I’m looking online as I’m on a low carb diet and it turns out they are 😩
Soo I guess I need to get some suede and cauliflower butternut squash to replace the carbs on my plate

If you're still in LCHF induction, Zelda123, then it would be better to not have any root veg, or butternut squash, until you're properly fat adapted. Just stick to leafy greens and most above ground veggies, leaving legumes and squashes alone.
I suggest forgetting most of what you 'learned' at SW.
Yeh I’m beginning to get that .. I just don’t feel full at all not having any carbs it’s leading me craving stuff .. I need to find something satisfying
You're probably not eating enough. It's tempting to just leave an empty space where your carbs used to be - if in doubt, fill it up with non-starchy veggies (ie., above-ground veggies). Or additional eggs, meat, or dairy.
If still in doubt ... eat more. Your body will figure out of its own accord how many calories it needs.
Also make sure that whatever you're eating has adequate fat in it - if you don't replace your carbs with fat, you're basically running on fresh air and fumes, and you will feel hungry
Yeah I think it’s probably that.. I’ve trained myself in the past that fats are bad and getting my head around it all is hard. I know I’m doing something right as I’ve gone from 15 stone 5 to 15 stone 1 and a quarter. That’s from when I put my first message up about my fatigue weight gain and thyroid issues. It’s just I need to incorporate the fat so I don’t end up hungry all the time
I agree it is a challenge and I’m still getting my head around it too. I’m delighted to eat butter without guilt now though and all those lovely foods I’ve denied myself for years.
There are many, many studies that have disproved the fat/cholesterol myth. How about reading this first healthunlocked.com/lchf-die...
Hi Zelda123. Id concur with the others advice in regard to a LCHF menu. When I begun I stopped eating all root vegetables and also stopped eating bananas, apples, pears and mangos.
Its not easy because we have been conditioned to expect them.
Try baking asparagus pakchoi or broccoli then stir frying it in garlic butter or olive oil. It is tasty and has a bit of substance to it. Things like cauliflower crust pizza are also filling.
LCHF can be tough, especially if you are vegan or vegitarian. But it quite a nice way to eat.
However it is not the only way to loose weight, if weighloss alone is your sole goal and many people loose weight and eat a diet including root veg.
Low carb high fat - totally the opposite of everything I’ve been indoctrined to believe, that low-fat was “better” for me, but I’m now a convert and feeling healthier and happier than I have in years.
Sounds like you could manage the intermittent fasting 16:8 that’s supposed to be very effective. I’m not geared up for that yet as I still eat the 16 rather than the 8 hours of the day 😂
