Hi all, new here so know your all well under way to reaching your pledges!

My long term goal is to lose approximately 7 stone and lose the belly and man boobs.

Short term pledge is to lose at least approx a stone in the first month.

Fee free to add me on Fitbit - will send email address if requested 😊

Thanks and good luck

Brian

Hi, Brian, Welcome.

We do not advocate rapid weight-loss... but, if

You have seven stone to lose,

You have a lot of fluid etc. to lose,

You can exercise regularly,

You have no diet failure history, and

You have no metabolic problems

It might be possible... but do not be put off if it does not happen.

My father lost seven stone in a year (starting at 24 stone).

We usually recommend a target weight loss of one or two pounds a week - but many members here who have several stone to lose achieve more.

Have you been diagnosed (pre)diabetic?

Well done for joining in Brian and good luck with your goal :)

You've got a fair bit to lose (please don't take that the wrong way), so maybe in the first month you could lose a stone. Just wanted to point out that the general ethos here is sensible eating and gradual weight loss to create long term, ingrained eating habits. This normally equates to losing about 1-2lbs per week.

The other thing that worries me when people set potentially high achievement goals is the negative impact it can have when we don't attain those goals.

Still rooting for you :)

Thank you!

As I mentioned above, I know it tails off but 1-2 a week would be brilliant.

I've got an overall goal but will supplement with smaller goals to meet along the way!

Got a wedding in October and want to look good in my kilt!

By October you can lose at least 4 stone healthily and sustainably. Should look fantastic in a kilt with that amount of weight lost - especially if you do some toning/strength exercise to tighten everything up 😉 Good luck and a warm welcome to this forum X
