Hi all, I have been a member since 2013 but never managed to stay with the plan . I am now heavier than ever and feel that it's time to get my eating under control. Looking to lose at least 2 stone, hopefully with your help this time I will be more successful
Starting all over again: Hi all, I have... - Weight Loss Support
Starting all over again
Hi hun, healthy eating can take time to commit too and life itself has a way of upsetting the best laid plans.. Don't beat yourself up about how much time you feel you have wasted or not been able to stick to the plan, wipe the slate clean and focus on the here and now. I have been a member on here for well over a year and failed to get my weight under control for a lasting period, but no matter, I logged back on about 6 weeks ago and am striving to win the battle of the bulge.. Ups and downs there will indoubtedly be, but the main thing is not giving up.. Good luck hun 😊
Hi alimar63
I am at the exactly the same point. Been a member before, not fully committed but going to try again starting today.
I hope you have success this time and find the support you need to reach your goals 😊.
Best of luck
Hello alimar63 and welcome back to the Weight Loss Forum
Here are a few suggestions on how to get the most out of the forum. Please note if you are using the new HU App many of these features are not available so I suggest you use the full website version.
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day, as well as a new Daily Diary, if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you have a 'Newbie' badge. We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too. If you have any questions please just ask
Best wishes
Anna
Hi there I have tried many diets in the past and never lost weight. I tried on here and found out that I had been making a mistake all the time. I was asked how many calories I had been eating when I was struggling with losing any weight. When I told them I was only eating around 1000cals I was told this was my problem and was advised to check how many I should be having on NHS bmi calculator as this gives you two amounts you can eat to be able to lose weight. As long as you eat between these two amounts you will be fine because if you eat less your body thinks you are starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes means you put weight on. When I upped my calories to the right amounts I started losing weight and have now lost 2st. Please make sure you are not also making this mistake and good luck with your journey.
