Has anyone tried these as snack
Not tried them but they look a low calories treat, so should be a reasonable healthy meal.
I have tried Aldi's sour cream and onion quinoa bites - they are rather nice. 85 calories a bag.
Aldi also do pea snacks - 87 calories: foodstufffinds.co.uk/2017/0...
I just checked the ingredients
Organic Chickpeas* (39%)
Tapioca*
Sunflower Oil*
Cheese Flavoured Seasoning* (9%)
Rice Flour*
Sea Salt
Natural Flavouring
Yeast Powder*
Unrefined Cane Sugar*
Acid: Lactic Acid
Anti-Caking Agent: Calcium Carbonate
Pepper*
Sunflower Oil*
Rice Protein*
and Good Vibes
So the chickpeas only make up 39% of the whole and there's no cheese, just cheese flavouring and "natural" flavouring. Not for me, good vibes or not
I have to agree. I haven't tried these ones but i have had the Aldi Quinoa ones and the pea snack ones.
Skips are the same in calories as these - but you wouldn't say Skips are a healthy snack - so just because they have quinoa or chick pea in the name doesn't mean they are healthy.
Yes - they are a lower calorie alternative to a higher calorie bag of crisps and will likely have less sugar / salt etc - so are "healthier" in that sense ... but you're probably better off with some plain nuts - which will be higher in calories but be natural and be more filling with healthy fats.
Or alternatively those roasted chickpeas that Hidden makes ! At least they ate what they say they are! 🥰 i have still yet to try them - ill get round to it one day !
I was given one of these as part of a complementary package at the end of a race. After running my fastest ever 10k I was severely unimpressed with these - really bland and the same texture as dried up expanding foam. But maybe they taste okay in a more leisurely scenario...
But running a PR 10k tastes sooooo good!
That was one reason why I never tried oven cooked crisps again! I don't even think they were much lower in calories than normal crisps, but they were as dry as dust. Never been a fan of crisps anyway, just needed something to take to a needlework do at Harrogate.
I dont really like them. I find them a bit tasteless and are really not satisfying. Would rather use the calories on a snack I enjoyed.
I quite like them - although the cheese flavour isn't the best. The salt & vinegar ones are pretty good - but as everyone's said they're still crisps so not the best option if you want something healthy. (If you just want crisps then it's worth looking at things like Quavers & French fries which are lower cal.)
I've tried these a while a go and couldn't even finish the bag it was like eating sawdust....so maybe from a weight loss perspective they work but from a taste point of view they're not for me.
