Cravings will pass

Yesterday I finally realised that cravings and desires to binge eat do pass especially when there is nothing sweet to binge on in the house. What is also helping is my 18:6 eating plan.

After a really good day the cravings attempted to kick in toward the end of the day and they were once again knocked into touch although thru the night I often thought of what I could have had had they been around . I remember even thinking that I’ll pop to the shops first thing in the morning and raid the sugary treats aisle but nope.... the morning is here and I’ve just finished exercising and am preparing to go paint balling (🙄🙄) with the family -more running around as I know everyone is gonna be aiming for me 🤣. The cravings passed and I’m ready for today.

I’d never have believed it but it really does get easier, my starting point was giving up sugar, best thing I did and for me that used to eat sugar raw that is saying something.

Cravings really do pass.

Good points. I try to end my eating window with something high fat to level out my blood sugars ready for the fast.

Do you do 18:6 every day?

Hi, MissAzzee , Welcome back.

I am glad you have got over the binge eating and the cravings - and you are on track.

I had no problems transitioning into IF 20:4, as I did it very gradually.

How long have you been IFing?

Have you seen the Fasting and Furious Forum?

Hi S11m

Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I’m addressing my binge eating and cravings day by day, sometimes hour by hour even.

I have found having a routine of daily exercise and IF of 16:8 to be really beneficial. I’ve always liked exercising but wouldn’t do it for long periods due to feeling guilty about having binged eaten however intermittent fasting of 16:8 has been amazing helpful and works hand-in-hand with my exercise .

I’m new to intermittent fasting and struggled with it at first however it’s now become so easy I just get on with it. I listen to my body and know when it’s time to eat. It has also allowed me to focus on what I eat and I find myself eating more whole foods which I prepare myself.

As I’m eating home-cooked whole meals I am no longer hungry, I find I no longer have the cravings and I no longer binge eat because I’m eating from a wholesome place. Its early days but it’s working for me... I have found that I’m able to say “no thanks” to meals and sweats which I know will be harmful to me and that’s a good thing and a first for me 👍👍

16:8 Is working for me at the minute, I’m not sure about moving to 20:4 but if it happens it happens but for now I’m happy where I am.

Thanks once again - x
