Hello, Lupielassy13, and welcome to the forum 😊

Sorry to hear about your medical concerns and treatment.

As I understand it, Slimming World has a lot of "free" foods, which may have caused your problem. There's no such thing as "free" food, all foods have a value. You might find this interesting and it could point you to a different approach phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

I am wondering if you like me have lupus and that is why you have been on steroids. I have for the past ten years too and my weight gain has been tremendous. I have just started to think in terms of an anti inflammatory diet to help. Can’t say for sure yet but i recently had pain, ate a banana, and felt better. I’ll keep posting my findings on this forum just in case anti-inflammatory helps!

That's interesting where did you find out about the anti inflammatory diet I could do with that I try to follow a diet for arthritis which is probably similar and limit my red meat and eggs funnily enough. I just had my steroid injections last week hoping it will kick in soon

I think all these autoimmune diets seem to focus on the same things. But, if it helps, my rheumatologist is mustard on the impact of 'inflammation' so that is why I went for it. Have only just got The Lupus Cookbook but will give it a whirl and post my impressions.

I don't know if its still red and green days but I could never get my head round eating loads of 1 stuff cos it was free!!! In theory you could eat a whole chicken on a red day as 'free'. Work out your calorie allowance from bmi calculator and stick to that and good luck.

Well, if it ain't working, I suggest leaving Slimming World :)

The SW diet is mostly woo-woo and although some lucky people lose a few pounds on it, they tend to put it right back on again when they take their eye off the ball.

Can I suggest you drop in on the LCHF group? Many people have found relief from idiopathic chronic diseases by eating this way. Even if that doesn't happen for you, it's also very effective for losing weight.
