My hair has been the same for years. It is well looked after , I go to the hairdresser every four weeks, but today I changed the colour and the style. By the time I lose the other 5.5 pounds for the Easter challenge and get on those new jeans π as my reward, I reckon I am going to feel pretty great.
( Right now I really want to head to the fridge!!!!! So I am thinking positive thoughts instead πππ)

Actually sitting reading through posts has stopped me going to the fridge, and I did do forty lengths at the swimming this morning and walked there and back to the hairdresser. It isnβt raining βοΈ but it is blowing a gale out there. I am not going to ruin my new hairdo πββοΈ
If you had short hair, and you weighed over 100kg... you would be less at risk of being blown away. (A girlfriend of mine was blown off the path once - in a freak gust on an exposed nose, on a mountain in Scotland.)
Ah yes! As a former hillwalker myself I know what it is like to be on windy Mountain Paths. It can be scary. I donβt think I am too much at risk to being spirited away by the wind myself but I donβt like the wind much
A new hair do does you good I went for mine doing other day and he said to me I hate the back of your hair!!! I said well I can't see it and you did it so he did completely different and was going out for friends meal that night and everyone mentioned it. Hope you get a good response. And see you managed to resist the biscuit well done
What a cheeky hairdresser!!!! However, glad you got a nice result and some compliments, it does make you feel good when other notice, but if they don't, too bad, it is how you feel that counts
Love a new hairdo π I went for a cut and blow dry on Wednesday, arrived looking like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards, left feeling like a million dollars π΅ π I bet that has really put a spring in your step π you won't recognise yourself when you get into those jeans π fab π
Actually I have been pretty technically inept this afternoon. I wrote two very long replies to a couple of New posters on the forum, and I cannot see them at all. I donβt know how I managed that! It takes real talent I suppose π
It takes very special skills π I've done it myself, written a long post & somehow clicked off it and lost the lot π€£ as long as we keep trying π
It is amazing how much a hairdo does for your self esteem. And I think we all need to develop the good habit of feeling a million dollars. After all, we are worth it!!!!!
That's so true, if you don't love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to? This healthy eating habit & the journey to a better version of myself has opened my eyes to a lot of things, looking after yourself is a form of self respect that we should all practice more π
Indeed you must. Go to the Turkish barber and get the hot towels and the beard oil massaged in. I have never tried it, for obvious reasons, but my son assures me it is a great feelingπ
You know I took my husband to the Turkish barbers on our 15th wedding anniversary two years ago in Istanbul, also our honeymoon city! (our then. 1.5 yr old went with us, grandma and Aunty kept the three older ones! As it was a gift from them)
And I just loved it! He doesnβt have hair on his head and just has a short beard but they made him look so pretty and he felt really special!!
Tried to get our 1.5 yr old his first haircut after but he screamed the place down!!!
So long as you wear your bald head with pride ( and don't try a comb over) you'll be fine just think I'm dignified. My partner had more on his chin than head and I still loved him.
Oh wow you are a saint ! Not heading for the fridge or the buffet or the cake ! Well done you ! That must have took some self control ! Hope you had a good night !
I did Lytham, I just kept that Eater challenge in mind, and a couple of people said I looked fabulous, mind you they were folks I hadnβt seen for a while and I think they expect me to look rotten after last yearβs cancer episode
Oh im sorry to hear about the cancer episode, I didnt know, hope you are all ok now ? Great to get compliments like that, nothing tastes as good as looking good feels ! Hats off to ya !
Read my post of 17 days ago, βSharing a good news story.β Sorry π I donβt know how to send a link to it, and you will see that I have much cause for rejoicing.
It will only let me go back 7 days but I think I read that, just didnt make the connection ,well done you! Youve been through alot ,! Pleased youre still fighting ! X
I wish I could send a photo of the mess I left in my kitchen last night just to avoid GOING TO THE FRIDGE!!!! I have to pay for it now but I am having a forced lie in to try and avoid it πππAnd since football was cancelled this morning due to stormy weather it just gets better and better!!! πππππ
I almost gave in to a Chinese but didnβt! Donβt worry we need treats life is too special not to enjoy just do some extra walking etc today! Any nice plans?
Fantastic! New hair style and colour always makes a difference!! New jeans here we come! π tell the fridge to go away and that youβre not interested! π
Well, I was at a 70th birthday party last night. Had my sensible calorie counted dinner score going, so totally resisted having anything from the buffet, didnβt have the cake either. Did have two glasses of wine though, so not entirely a saint π
I bet you look amazing!!! Congrats on the progress!! I have gotten some good ideas from the responses you have gotten. I am struggling with the "no one cares, I don't care" so I do very little more than I have to and I eat what and when I want!! Shame on myself! But depression sucks!! Hope everyone has a great weekend! I got a lot done yesterday and while I'm proud of all that I got done, I'm paying for it today. Pain is about normal 2-3 but my muscles are so fatigued they burn when I walk. Anyone with fibromyalgia or maybe neuropathy will understand, yesterday I took too many spoons from today. Soft hugs to everyone! π
It's ok, I found it lol, thank you for responding. I will have to look for that fibromyalgia group. Thank you for that advice, I will try, thank you for caring and for being "you"!
Yea, Im in Roanoke! I love it here!! Except this darn back n forth weather!! I beat he's a UVA fan??? Maybe we could get together when you are here in May.
Yes you too, of course you are five hours behind us. It is evening here now. I didn't know what a hokie was, I have just looked it up. Yes indeed, could be fun
Hi there, yes it so great to know that you are not alone. There are so many wonderful people on this forum who give their time and support so generously. Sorry you are in pain, I don't know much about fibromyalgia, but I know there is a group on this site somewhere, so I hope you are finding support and empathy from them. Do something for me today, think kindly about yourself and reward yourself in someway that does not involve food. You think perhaps no one cares, you are wrong, I care, and I don't even know you, but I do know this. Life matters!! You matter!!
So, be good to yourself this day, and every day Xx
As you can see this reply was for Tech4hokies, but I sent it to myself! I keep doing that, but you are right, it is a great mantra for all of us to live by
