Has anyone found a reliable set of scales.?

I've got the ww digital and have them on my bathroom floor (no carpet) but I get on and I've put on 5 lbs. Scary ! But I step off and on again and I've not gained any. And that varies every day. I've gone back to using my mechanical ones which seem to be giving the same weight every day but I can't see the needle and I need to be exact because of fluid retention. It would help with weight loss if I could find a good reliable set that I can read with ease. Thankyou 🤔

My digital scales were cheap, around £10. I'm happy with them but they are sensitive to where I put them. I line them up with one tile on the bathroom floor and that seems to work. It can vary a bit but, if I'm doubtful about what they say, I leave them in position and step on and off a couple of times and they then usually make sense.

I'd love to leave them in one position but my bathroom is small, the only room without lino and a husband who never sees things at floor level so is always going headlong towards something on the wall! So I keep them in the bath and lift them out as needed. Not ideal. I'll put my thinking cap on again before I end up with three sets of scales.😶

I don't leave them out, my bathroom is small, too, but I know which tile I line them up with. You could find your best "no wobble" spot and put a bit of tape. Mine live behind the wash basin pedestal :)

Thankyou. I will let you know which scales win and where they end up.

If they're kept in the bath perhaps it's water retention? :)

Smarty! :D

Mine sometimes "stick" on a former weight so I put a 6 pack of 2l water bottles on to disrupt them ... that seems to jolt them into action (bit of a pain if revised one is higher tho!). Aldi here are advertising some that do fat %age etc etc for 15 euros. Yeah right, but at that price I might buy some for a laugh!

My ww scales do that too, I can sometimes get them to weigh a bit less if I move them round the floor and I always take the lightest reading ! This is hilarious & reminds me of hanging out of doors & windows with the old tv aerial to get a signal (for those of us old enough to remember those days). The lengths we will go to to make sure the scales are going the right way!

Not prepared to post my weight, just my losses, so sadly, as you seem to have such set rules, I will decline, but will continue to follow the daily posts and make occasional comments.

Isn't technology pathetic? The obvious solution is ceiling ( or door-frame) mounted scales.

I had exactly the same problem with WW ones, which were swiftly returned for a refund. I have a Nokia (now Withings) watch which links to my phone which has a heartbeat monitor and bought the scales which link to my phone along with the BP monitor. Although pricey (this damn dodgy ticker has cost me a fortune), the scales are extremely accurate and with the app on my phone I can see the history of what is happening with my BP, heartrate and weight. It even send me a reminder if I fail to weight myself for several days (noramlly because I am avoiding the scales cos I've been bad).

It makes me smile when I look back at my posts. I just say it as it comes! I don't mind if others find it funny. Makes the world go round! Now make sense of that one🤔
