Despite my best efforts I’m getting bigger. I’m thinking of doing the Cambridge plan. Has anyone tried it?

Hello roxy1907, it's a long time since you've been here and I think you'll be less desperate if you start making use of the forum regularly.
I don't know what the Cambridge plan is. When you say you've been making your best efforts, have you been eating regularly within your advised calorie range? Six months ago, you said that was 1880-2330 calories. I'd guess it will be higher if you've gained weight. Why not try that before going on a diet?
My tip would be to treat yourself to 15 mins a day here (that's not much, is it?) reading posts, chatting getting support (and giving it, too) and learning along the way.
You could start right not by joining today's weigh in. Here's the link healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh....
Yes i have roxy1907 !
I have a friend who is a rep for Cambridge and out of the diet plans i found this the better one for me as you have a one to one with your rep and she weighs you and takes measurements. There are 6 steps to it & It is still restrictive though on the early steps as its a meal replacement. The products taste quite producty at first but you do get used to that.
I personally ised it for just a few weeks to kickstart me off
I have come to the conclusion though, that none of the diets out there really address the psychological aspect of what you eat and why you eat it. They just treat the symptoms rather than address the root cause and so i eat healthily and have adopted a healthier lifestyle in an attept to treat the whole me !
However thats on pause at moment however as im fully embracing xmas 😂🎄
Good luck xx
Thanks misslovely
My plan is to just try and lose some weight( l have about 8 stone to lose) and to just take away my choice as to what to eat. I know it’s going to be hard and I’ve recently learnt what my triggers are— only took me 40ish years, l just want a reset.
I hope to learn portion and self control along the way.
I fully realise that to maintain any off my losses I’ll need to adopt a better eating plan. I just want a break from it all.
Here are a couple of stories of people who have lost 7 stone or more and kept it off without meal replacements. I hope they will give you confidence that you can, too

Hi roxy, it’s not easy but now you say you know what your triggers are. Would you like to share them on the forum. I say this because there could be others who could connect with you if they have the same triggers as you. For me I found after over 40ish years that carbohydrates are not my best friends. I discovered this here on this forum, I have had loads of support. I don’t eat any basic carbs now, no bread, potatoes, pasta or rice. I have never used pre prepared food, that is ready meals and sauces to add to food and I dont eat junk foods either. Once you find what works for you then you can stay with it for life. Fad diets are only good for a ‘quick fix’. We are all better to eat food which is going to be nutritionally good for us and can sustain. I wouldn’t want to drink a soup or milkshake for my main meal yuk!
