Ok so I've just joined.. first thing it asked me to do was check out the NHS calorie checker and provided a link. The link took me to a page that gave info on the calorie checker but not the actual checker. There where other links but none to the calorie checker. Am I missing a step?

Hi - try this link for the calculator. I had the page open as iwas rechecking mine
nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw...
Thank you for that but it took me to the BMI calculator?? Beginning to think this is a sign.... *reaches for the chips! π
The BMI calculator is what you need to complete to get your daily calorie range. If you complete it, it tells you on the final screen.
Yeah I did that but it says it has over 1500 items for you to check calories with... that's the thing I can't find...
Ah, sorry - are you trying to find how many calories are in different foods?
I misunderstood.
I'm not sure you can do that on here but i'm sure one of the admins will be able to help.
I know there are plenty of different apps / sites that you can do this on but personally i just use google. - just type how many calories in xxx (eg 100g carrots) and it will tell you
I'm sure you will get plenty of help and advice and tips how to find things ... it took me ages to get the hang of it when i started!
Thank you... I'm sure il find it eventually.
You'll get a proper welcome from the duty admin soon, but here's the link to the calorie checker for now. It's all on the NHS Choices page, link in the Welcome Newbie post.
nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we...
Thank you. But I found that page... it tells me all about the calorie checker and gives examples at the bottom (such as spaghetti Bolognese for 4) but I'm trying to find an actual calorie counter? It reads like it has one, it says "use the checker to find the calories for over 150 000 different foods"... that's the bit I'm looking for... none of the links lead to it.
You have to type in the name of the food that you want the calorie count for and it will give it.
Follow the link I've given you.
WELL ... even i've found something new there as i didn't know that page existed!!
Thank you!!!
I'm not sure why it's not working for me. I followed that link and it took me to a kind of overview?? The only search bar is top left and if I write 'banana' in that, for example, it comes up with medical terms. "Why potassium is good for you" etc on the NHS pages...
Itβs a little bit further down the page in a green box... works for me
It is working for you, but you need to scroll down slightly to the NutraCheck calorie counter.
That's not there at all... all the way to the bottom... maybe it's not phone friendly?!
I'm on my phone!
Shame I can't add pictures... I'd screen shot what I'm seeing... that link takes me to an NHS page and it says Calorie Checker. Then it tells me all about it and at the bottom there is a "join the conversation" box... followed by site map and other services and so on... and it's not a bad link, I'm getting that page even if I Google it...
I've put a screenshot of what you're looking for on the header of your post.
You've been scrolling past it.
Yeah I'm not seeing that at all... all this stress over a little green box.
I prefer Google for calories anyway!
I prefer the calories right now!!
Il use another site... fail.
Thank you for trying... Il log in on the PC later and see if it's just my phone... let's see if step 2 is any easier...
I just can't understand why it's not there for you, that's a mystery!
Don't worry, every other step will be a breeze after this!
Just tried another link and got a "NHS is having technical difficulties please try later message"... I've clearly broke it!!
Oh my!! Iβve never liked the nhs calorie checker either π€£
Apart from struggling to work the online calorie checker, I hope you will find the forum useful and supportive.
If you havenβt already done so, please read the Welcome Newbies post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
