if your going to loose weight stop thinking food if what you do makes you loose weight great but WE ALL MUST remember this you must do this all time STOP AND IT IS BACK take my word lost 10st back to20st lost 8 /10 stone back to 25st silly i know but that's me so folks forget food eat the basic needs and forget it or you tormenting yourself EASIER SAID THAN DONE PAUL I KNOW TALKING TO MYSELF AGAIN NO ONE LISTENED I BET

My father lost 7 stone in a year... and kept it off.

I am fortunate that I can lose weight just by eating less.

I have now lost a pound a week for ten weeks... and it is such a no-hassle "norm" that I wonder if I am heading for anorexia! (My target is to be "overweight" rather than "obese" by Christmas).

hi s11 any weight loss makes you feel great under normal circumstances i have to lose weight to lose weight bit Irish i know but a lot weight as to come off or i will cripple myself trying to do any exercise i have got off to flying start using my Ramadan fast falling off tried a few exertions but not quite there yet

Losing weight helps you lose weight, but so does gaining muscle (as it helps burn calories)... ¿unless you have joint or skeletal problems?

So true Paul, eating sensibly us for 'life',so the challenge fir everyone is find out what works and is sustainable,to lose personal weight and stuck with it.Thanks for sharing your successes and how to overcome failure to maintain one's weight loss. Thanks

You've really nailed it here Paul.

If eating too much has led to gaining weight, then the answer is to not eat so much.

It's important to be aware of the mental chatter that keeps you wanting to eat.

Hi Paul, I have also lost stones in the past (usually 3 or 4) using various “diets”, only to put the weight back on and more besides. Previously I’ve lost weight because I wanted to. This time I’m doing it because I HAVE to for my health. Reading other posts here has made me realise that when I thought I was trying to eat healthily by choosing low fat options, I was actually making it difficult for myself. Since reading up about insulin response, I’m now trying to eat low carb and sugar. I’ve found that this time I’m not obsessing about what I’m eating so much or feeling hungry between meals, so hopefully this is something I can continue with long term to maintain the weight loss.

panda i am here to help but the main person is you iam db2 drastically overweight i have lost weight but that much over nobody's noticed i got blubber on blubber so i have BIG TASK AHEAD if you press on my name you should see my old posts basically i am fasting have my magic mix in fridge so if get desperate top there magic mix is sundays left overs mixed within of life so all good stuff but i cant tell to do it it may or may not be suitable points i want to make is whatever we do you have to do it forever so its no good dreaming of food tormenting oneself but some health and illnesses wont suite my regime if were all in here together we can hopefully help each other WE HAVE ALL GOT TO PUT ON BACK BURNER/EVEN BIN IT IF ITS OR GIVE IT TO CHARITY CANT SAY THIS LOUD ENOUGH FOOD IS THE CULPRIT IF THE BEER MAKES YOU ILL YOU DONT DRINK IT BUT FOOD IS A DIRTY FIGHTER AS WOMANLY WAYS honest promise i am not going doolally anyways GO FOR IT HOPE I AM NOT HOGGING SCENE

Hi Paul, this is the video that I was directed to by another poster and I am so grateful because I now have a way to lose that is suiting me. I think it shows what you are saying about certain foods working against us when we’re trying to lose weight. It may not be right for everyone, but the important thing is we are all here to support each other, especially on the difficult days.

Thank you so much for showing me this video, I watched the whole series and plan to watch it again. I am really concerned that the dietary advice I am giving to others may not be supported by current evidence.

It is time that the Eat Well guidance was reviewed, it seems that the eat less/ move more advice is woefully inadequate for many reasons, particularly for the obese who like me who may well be insulin resistant. This is such a serious matter that I will try to lobby where I can.

hi p&qs try to make things simple k.i.s is my way i am no doc so i dont want to KILL anyone make sure if you follow anything i say its safe for YOU i think if you press on my name you should get old posts so i am boring peeps i am fasting have magic mix in fridge if get to LOW but rules are shut your gob dont be tempted stop thinking food its got to work do it in short like 2 days on 2 days light diet BUT IF YOU GET LOW EAT DONT BINGE TRY TRY AGAIN try to back peeps up but cant promise it also ITS NOT EASY ok said enough lets do it
