Hard to do with food alone

My weight has been stagnant give or take the odd kg for over a year . When you reach my age - 64 - I feel when you get the food intake and portion sizes under control you really need to try and address exercise even though with me I have a fairly manual job.

From 2 Jan I have started 4 x per week for 45 mins to 1 hour via You Tube going back to Zumba . I no longer want to snack as if I am making effort to exercise and also no milky coffee - just water most of the day then the exercise puts me in a different mindset .

In 2 weeks with a few tweaks like the water and a bit more walking I have lost 3.2kg with no problems. Hard to keep this up but I certainly know what works . Can’t see this weight loss being continual as my body will get used to this but my clothes fit better and I feel energised.

I am 5ft 1 now at 63kg so not really at an ideal but at my age the weight can come off the wrong places and age me more if I went much lower .

Sounds like you've found a useful way forward though, as you say, the loss is likely to slow. I think it's a mix of the body getting used to whatever the change is, as you say, and the fact that there's more to lose initially, so it comes off more quickly

You are right . Body get used to good food then you draw a blank

I have the same psychological boost when I put more effort into exercise - it’s like you don’t want to undo all the hard work. Well done 😊

It’s fitting it into a routine .Can only use main big TV for exercise via You Tube as have to stand in front to see the steps so timing to do this can be tricky with people in the lounge as most of our house is open plan downstairs

Body composition and figure is more important than weight. If you're doing a lot of exersise you will be developing muscle which is denser than fat and which could be the reason why your weight isn't cahanging. What does the tape measure say?

Thanks Eryl you make some good points . My clothes fit better . Psychologically I feel better for exercise and it encourages me not to eat rubbish . Drink more water too
