Feeling deflated
First of all, very well done for losing a whole stone in weight, that must feel good! Try picking up 14lbs of shopping and see how much that is. I have updated your badge to reflect your success. Also losing fat slowly is much better, it is much more likely to stay off 😊.
Please try not to stress about how far you have to go, when I started out I felt quite overwhelmed with quite a few health issues as well as obesity. I saw a dietician who told me losing 5% of my body weight would make significant improvements to my health. 😊
And I agree about the BMI chart . . . This really is just a very broad way of judging health. I personally dislike this obsession with numbers, and much prefer other objectives such as finding a way of eating that could be sustained for life, making improvements to health and increasing energy.
And lastly, I highly recomend coming onto the forum regularly, daily if you can, reading posts and replying to others. Being part of a community is proven to help weight loss. Why not join our daily chat thread ‘What’s Happening Today?’ We are always happy to chat 😊
Best wishes

Hi huge congratulations on losing 1 stone....a great achievement. I will second everything IndigoBlue61 has said. I was much the same weight as you 10 weeks ago and my BMI says I should be under 12 stone top of the range which I haven't been since I was a skinny flat chested 12 year old so I'm not even contemplating that as my end goal. I am just setting small challenges and want to have lost 30kg by the end of the year (doctors challenge) and am currently at 13.5kg. My next target is to get my 15kg badge and then 20 kg then a photo with 2 sacks of dog food gone! The end game is way too far off to even contemplate, and like you would leave me feeling low, would smaller achievable goals work for you? But be proud and pleased with what you have achieved and hey your BMI is now in the 30's. Good luck with your journey ..........
Youve lost a stone and feel deflated???? I would be over the moon. A stone is a lot of weight...2 babies! Please enjoy your achievement and dont stress. The weight loss shows you are doing everything right. It took months or even years to put weight on so you cant expect to lose it overnight. Chin up...keep on going.
Hi, Cjc_woodworx
Congratulation on losing a stone! You are winning, you have made a good start.
We know very little about you... but:
Some sites say that a BMI of 30 is OK for older men.
You know you are overweight, and you are succeeding in doing something about it.
You do not need to know how overweight you are to know that you are overweight, and to start doing something about it.
¿How muscular are you? ...The NHS BMI recommendations do not apply to people with more than average lean body mass for height. ¿It was the website, not a medical professional, that told you that you should be ten stone?
What is important is body fat percentage, and there are better ways to estimate this, e.g. a body fat caliber or the U S Navy body fat website.
I have always been a big person but I but don't look it if you know what I mean when people look at me they say I am about 17 stone instead of 21 stone I only carry weight on my belly but nowhere else always active due to my job as a chef for 10 hours a day near 7 days a week
