Hello moonligtht and welcome to the weight loss forum.

You are young and have a chance to make some real changes for the better for life, as long as you don't see this as a "diet" that you'll do for a while and then stop.

To make navigating the forum easier, we’ve put all the information you’ll need in a Newbie pack and here’s the link healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... This gives a full picture of all the support and information available on the forum.

We also ask you to think about your privacy and security online. Decide whether you want your posts to be 'searchable' anywhere and shared on Facebook and Twitter, which can happen if you leave your post unlocked. If you prefer your posts to be read only by people on this forum, you need to lock them. Further detail about security here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Wishing you all the best and hoping to see you around the forum

By the way, it would be interesting to know how you found your way to this forum :)

BridgeGirl thank you for your kind welcome. I work for the nhs and I was looking through the website and found nhs wheight plan. At first I was checking my BMI as I been on holday and put on extra weight I nearly cried at work but I pulled myself together. I always struggled with weight since childhood and to see your weight go up and up is heartbreaking and depressing, I hoping that this year is the year for me to feel healthy and feel good about myself.

Hi ...we are all in the same boat here and all started somewhere . Simply watch portion sizes and we all know what we need to cut down on but don't punish yourself because this is a quickfire way to give up . Fill most of your plate with veg then add meat or fish for a simple meal . Watch sauces . I flavour with herbs , chopped onions , peppers , tomatoes and a little black pepper or spices . You get so used to this that when you do have that occasional take out you notice you are so thirsty as it tends to contain salt and so bloated too . I have the odd choc bar . I like lentil curls instead of crisps so if you look around there are plenty of good replacements for our fave things . Keep weighing and logging in for support . Any tips please ...
