Well this week has been a week of consistency. I am still heading down but struggled this week to shift any weight. Not a problem since it often happens like that on week three.
It gave me a good opportunity review my lifestyle once again and the reasoning behind what I do. I am aware I could do with more exercise still, which is coming, and I made a decision to swap the decaf Lattes (135 cals each on average) for decaf Americanos (2 cals each on average). I should only drink one a day, but it was creeping up to two and sometimes three a day, so that was not helping with calorific intake. I am swapping my location of work in mid-June which means I will be going via train not car, and this involves a ten to fifteen minute walk each way each day. The company is not changing it is just my team is moving.
I am not a big Eurovision fan, but got wrapped up in the news over the weekend and as if by magic Israel’s winning entry reflected much of what I was thinking. We should not comply with world’s views of ourselves but do what we are doing for ourselves. Netta actually wrote:
“Women, this year have been searching and finding their voices which is great, which is amazing, and very very important. But you know, it’s an empowerment song in general for everybody, for everybody who has been struggling to be themselves, struggling with their bosses, with the government, somebody stepping on them. I have been told so many times that I am not pretty enough, I am not skinny enough to do what I wanna do. And that’s it, it is an empowering song, everyone can find something in it. And it is wrapped in a happy vibe, which I love!”
So this week’s song for those who love or hate it is, “I’m not your Toy” by Netta Barzilai:
Look at me, I'm a beautiful creature
I don't care about your modern-time preachers
Welcome boys, too much noise, I will teach ya
Pam pam pa hoo, prram pam pa hoo
Hey, I think you forgot how to play
My teddy bear's running away
The Barbie got somethin' to say, hey, hey, hey
Hey! My "Simon says" leave me alone
I'm taking my Pikachu home
You're stupid just like your smartphone
Well done to the SuRie for continuing in adverse conditions too!
Have a great week.
