Accepting this as life not a diet

Soooo today I was 500 Cals over. And that's ok. Today was my 20th wedding anniversary. I have had champagne and steak and chips and profiteroles and chocolate.

But I counted them. And I will make sure that the rest of the week is healthier and balanced.

Guess what I am pleased about is that I am not feeling guilty about having a special meal, but am happy to recognise it for what it is, and that it doesn't mean I have blown my week or my diet because this is what life is.

Sounds strange but that's a huge mental change for me so wanted to put it down in writing.

Happy Wednesday!

Great post, great mindset, I bet you enjoyed that meal more than you would have done before because it was special.

Happy Anniversary :)

Congratulations on both achievements. I'm glad you've had a great day.

Happy anniversary hope you had a fab day x

Congratulations! What a wonderful and healthy mindset to have. Super well done for counting everything and for only going 500 over. It's so easy to spiral into uncountable numbers when you're celebrating but 500 is very balance-able during the week :)

Congratulations on your anniversary! You shouldn't ever feel guilty about celebrating such a special occasion, as you have pointed out, you can always compensate later in the week. Hope you enjoyed your day and here's to 21 years.

Congratulation on your 20th wedding anniversary x x and enjoying your day and food and only going over by 500 cals - that's brill the change in mindset really helps :)

Congratulations on reaching your 20th anniversary- I don't think there is anyone on the forum that will begrudge you going over the allowance- its a special occasion. I went well over my allowance yesterday (packet of wine gums & McCoy crisps) and I didn't really want them they were in the house! I am happy for you and you admit that its was a one off because of the occasion and you're ready to focus on sticking to your calorie allowance
