I've been struggling to lose weight for twelve months following a breast cancer diagnosis last summer. I've tried the standard plans but found them difficult to adjust to. I'm hoping that I can get on track through calorie counting and starting to introduce some light exercise.

Good luck with your first week.
Hello Lorrainer1964 and welcome
I hope the treatment for your breast cancer is now behind you and you can look forward to a more positive year.
The 12 week plan is based on calorie counting and replacing unhelpful habits with positive ones so it isn't a quick fix but can help you change your attitude to food and eating. And this forum is a huge support at every stage, so I would recommend you getting involved as much as possible - daily if you can,
Good luck
Lorrainer I hope the breast cancer is now behind you and you have time to concentrate on other things. Must have been a scary time for you.
Just take things a day at a time and make small changes to start with. You will get there. Come and join in with the banter on here and get to know us. The Whats Happening Today thread is a good place for a chat and a cuppa, hope to see you there soon
I really hope the chemo and stuff is well out of the way, and that the prognosis is good. Calorie counting works for me, even if it has been a bit hit and miss over the last couple of weeks. I really couldn't cope with all these points and syn things that the slimming groups use. Having said that I do use Weight Watchers products, though in a calorie counting way, rather than points.
