Gained to much

I have always been over weight since I can remember but it's never been this bad. I quit smoking 1 year 9 days ago and I've gained 30lbs since July of 2017. I need to lost almost 100 lbs to get what I should weigh at. I've tried the low calorie diet before and get tired of counting. Now I'm going to try the low carb diet. I've ordered some keto Coffee and looking forward to see how this works... we shall see what happens

Congratulations on reaching a year, non smoking,Enjoy first week if 12wk programme on here.my motto is if at first you don't succeed, find out where you are going wrong, and trytry again.following daily calorie allowance and fluids I've found is more important than extra exercise.😊

Hi and welcome, Gatorrulz :)

Well done for quitting the cigs, but as for keto coffee, the jury's out on that one ;)

Hi Gatorrulz78 , welcome :)

You mention past experience with low calorie diet. I don't know your current weight but if you have 100lbs to lose, the chances are that following a healthy eating plan, using your personalised calorie range which you can get here nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw... , you'll be having a decent number of calories and should not feel hungry. Do check your calorie range and see what you think. Of course, reducing carbs is a big part of a healthy eating plan for many of us.

Good luck!

I appreciate that. I'm going to try the low carb diet and drink my keto Coffee. The trouble I have is getting rid of my sodas. I'm easing into it and not going full force at once.. so far I've been doing ok but starting this week I'm also going to start walking 3 miles... my current weight is 240 which i should be 135-140. I'm turning 40 next month and I am tired of being over weight.

Congrats for making a start . I gave up smoking when I was pregnant with my first child in 1985 and haven't smoked since . I feel so much better now that smoking is really frowned upon - in fact we can't smoke at work even outside or in uniform and I work 10 hour days so I think although the company don't out loud ban it - you would have to do without one for so long . Making a start was maybe the worst part of my journey but now it is effortless cheaper shopping and I am now starting to get positive comments . Keep going and like anything else it gets easier as you body and you adjust to change.

Hi, hope all's well, how's the keto going? I'm a keto newbie and doing great on it, for me carbs are the devil lol, l just haven't been hungry on it where normally l was feeling permanently hungry. I drink loads of water now and haven't even fancied a pepsi max! My calories are naturally coming to under 1500 a day from tracking my macros and lm not craving sweets and chocolates which is a miracle lol. All the best xx
